Ingredients:

 

  • ½ cup coconut sugar (or maple sugar for a lighter flavor)
  • ¼ cup butter (grass-fed preferred)
  • ¼ cup heavy cream (or raw cream/milk)
  • 2 tablespoons elderberry syrup OR 2 tablespoons dried elderberry pomace simmered in ¼ cup water, strained
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions:

  1. In a small saucepan, melt butter and sugar over medium heat, stirring until bubbly.
  2. Slowly whisk in the cream until smooth and thickened (3–4 minutes).
  3. Remove from heat and stir in elderberry syrup/pomace extract, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.
  4. Serve warm in a little crock alongside apple slices or scones.
